Super Fork Guy

Ella’s current hero is a small purple plastic fork.  In the stories she’s been telling all afternoon, the fork can fly, and has an apparently unlimited supply of anchors connected to very long chains that it uses to thwart monsters in various ways.  The way it goes is, I describe how I was walking through the Very Scary Forest and then make the sounds of the scary monsters that I saw.  As soon as I make a very scary monster sound, Ella interrupts (speaking for the fork) with “OH  YEAH!  I got that one!”  And then describes how the fork vanquished that particular monster.

I have a strange daughter.

It Figures

First the good news.  Going into a long week in Michigan, I knew that Ella was going to take either two steps forward or two steps back with respect to potty training.  But instead she took something like four steps forward, and now she is, for practical intents and purposes, potty trained.  This is superb.

So heading home I was looking forward to being able to get out a bit more during the day.  But yesterday Dominic was kind enough to pass along the pinkeye he picked up in the Great White North to Ella and myself.  So we continue to be constrained in our adventuring options, at least for a little while longer.
